The European Championship for Masters (veterans) will take place in Nottingham from 30 June to 9 July 2023. It is a tournament accredited by the FIH (Fédération Internationale de Hockey), where four age categories (men and women) will play: 35+, 40+, 45+ and 50+.

“Good communication between the two umpires is an absolute ‘must’ during every match to be able to provide clarity at this level to the teams and of course to be able to make the right decisions.”

Umpires

It promises to be a grand European Championship with more than 40 participating (country) teams. The matches will be supervised by 40 umpires (including 7 Dutch) and as many officials. During the tournament, the umpires will work with the AXIWI communication system to guide the matches even better.

Last year, the communication system was also used during the World Cup and Robert Kieboom, Umpires Manager of the umpires said about it: “Good communication between the two referees is an absolute ‘must’ during every match to be able to provide clarity at this level to the teams and of course to be able to make the right decisions.”

Of course, we at Axitour are proud to be able to support the umpires again with the communication systems of AXIWI. We will inform you about the event via the website and social media and how the umpires experience working with the AXIWI headsets.

INTERVIEW with Mark Clattenburg about the added value of using referee headsets – 19-05-2021

“It is what my wife says with a dishwasher. When you haven’t got one you don’t know the difference. But when you get one, it changes your life.”
