In sports having two (2) or more referees during a match is an increasing trend, even if the games are non-professional. To make communication between referees more effective, we introduced the wireless and handsfree AXIWI® Referee communication system. And the communications system is very affordable: similar referee communication systems are 4 to 5 times as expensive.
In the meantime, referees in the following sports, like handball, basketball, soccer, field hockey, water polo, rugby, Ice hockey, floorball are happy to work with the AXIWI® headsets.

The affordable referee communication system for sports
With the AXIWI® communication system, up to 6 persons can simultaneously communicate hands-free with each other. Just like a telephone conversation. Various settings are possible, e.g. one person is the master, and up till a total of six persons can talk and listen simultaneously. Others persons with a similar unit can listen to the conversation. You also can have a master and sub-master configuration, meaning master and sub-master coupled together and four (4) others can use the “S” button to switch on or off the talk function. Or you can make use of an optional PTT button to open or close the talk function. More options are available! Please ask our sales department.

Coaching communication system for referees

The communication system is also excellent for communication between coaches and their assistants, during training or a game.
Talent development
Referee coaches can guide talented referees using an AXIWI® headset communication system. During a game, the referee coach stands beside the field. He is in direct contact with the referees using the wireless AXIWI® communication system. The referee coach immediately gives the referee feedback about his position in the field and possible running lines.

With the AXIWI Referee Academy (link webpage) we let referees get acquainted working with a wireless communication system to use it optimally and effectively in collaboration with colleagues.
During the AXIWI® Referee Academy, referees can take back the acquired knowledge and experience to the sports clubs and competitions. In this way, the referee and the sport club benefits and improves.
That is our goal with the AXIWI® Referee Academy: allowing referees to test and work with our communication systems, so they become best performing referees and umpires.

Every sport is different and is lead in a different way. At some sports you have one referee and at others you have even 2 or 3 referees. And then not to forget the other officials who may have a role in leading and supporting in a match. Also the level, on which the sport is practiced, plays a role in the level of guidance. Referees take more correct and faster decisions with communication system
In June 2016 Axitour Communication Systems has held a survey among referees in Holland. The referees who participated on the survey are active on all levels and in a variety of sports. To obtain the information we made a survey for referees who are working with a communications system and who aren’t working with a communication system: 105 to 419.
